Comprising up to 30 members who rotate on and off the stage like a sporting team, this all female soul band, exude explosive energy with their refreshing take of soul, funk and blues. They really are exceptionally good. Powerfully entertaining live shows is their forte and Sweethearts don’t disappoint. On their 2014 US tour they so impressed the Mayor of Memphis that he gave them the Key to The City. They even have their own Emmy nominated TV series, Heart Soul’ which explores after the scenes of this unique, only one of its kind, band. Recognition for Sweethearts live shows is worldwide with Europe lauding them. With each year brings new vibrant songwriting talent and Sweethearts latest release Four Leaf Clover’ combines the songwriting talents of ten Sweethearts members in a funky, edgy neosoul fusion. Their wonderful performance skill and maturity is way beyond their years and is only matched by their wit, and playful, cheeky personalities. Sweethearts provides a clever outlet and a store where we can bond with like minded girls over our love of music and Doc Martens. Sweethearts is the unique music experience for school aged young women anywhere in the world. Approach Sweethearts provides the only sincere music education program of this type in the world. They tour the world performing at massive music festivals.They write their own songs and record their music. Ample of performance opportunities with up to fifty gigs a year generous you insight into the sincere music industry and how you can be a portion of it. This is the greatest level and only qualification of its kind offered at a secondary school level. Program Details The Sweethearts Certificate IV is a unique, real educational program that has a proven culture of innovation, triumph and consecutive improvement. The aspiration is to guide and support students on their learning journey through being segment of a band that is established and highly regarded in the music industry. Pathways and Career Opportunities The Sweethearts Certificate IV in Music can lead directly to industry opportunities with graduates being equipped with the skills required to seek performance opportunities in the music industry. Other areas in the music industry that this course can precede to are, recording, retail, management and teaching. Content Performance requirements Over two years the program delivers a total of fourteen units. The remaining ten units are predominantly performance based. The units are mainly delivered as portion of a holistic approach and not sequentially as is the case in other courses. As Sweethearts is a music industry based band, performance hours are accumulated for approximately one hundred shows over a two year duration. The Certificate IV does not have scored assessment. (a not for benefit association operating lower government regulation) was formed in the year 200 to fully support and run the Sweethearts program and band. Some 16 years later the Sweethearts have carved out a recognized deposit in the professional music industry, locally in the Geelong region, across the State of Victoria, nationally and internationally. Regularly performing at private, corporate events and Victorian festivals such as Queens cliff, Port Fairy etc, and with five Europe tours and a tour to the USA in 2014, they have a reputation for flippant Geo soul, punchy originals and huge entertainment. The unique feature of the Sweethearts is that it always changes each year with fresh and emerging artists future into the band and others leaving to pursue their career paths. By identifying, nurturing and supporting fresh talent, and taking learning and performing into the professional performance arena, the on the job authenticity and industry experience is unsurpassed. The clever concept and journey of the Sweethearts began some 28 years ago when a group of like minded young women below the guide and passion of Ross Lipton the creative genius, got together to play soul music. Below his leadership, they grew to become polished and professional mus’s, with their uppermost breakthrough first when they were invited to play at the prestigious Montreux Jazz festival in Switzerland in 1997. From this the band grew in both reputation and musicianship, however it soon became evident that the demands of the industry and the opportunities that could be offered, needed a different approach and organization. As a result the Sweethearts' Foundation was formed.
