Your anesthetist is a highly trained expert in the use of these drugs and will choose the maximum appropriate for you after consideration of your health and the operation you are having. Behind the operation is over you will be taken to a notable area, called the Recovery room, close to the operating theater and staffed by nurses specially trained to look after anaesthetised patients who are waking.
